Full Time Application Closes 23 Jul 2024 Auckland - South Auckland Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor Do you want to be a part of a new bi cultural Alcohol and Drug Treatment service delivered in partnership with Serco within the Auckland South Corrections facility?We are now currently seeking a full-time permanent Practitioner to join our team in delivering treatment for 6 to 12 months within in a therapeutic community-based environment for up to 60 men.
Your role will include assessing clients and developing treatment plans using the Therapeutic Community model of care, preparing NZ Parole Board reports and ensuring the effective delivery of 1-2-1 and group interventions.
Our idea candidate will have: Up to 1 years'' experience working with clients in a social service, health, mental health and/or addictions setting A relevant level 7 qualification e.g.
health science, social work, counselling, psychology, social work, alcohol and other drugs (AOD) or mental health Registration with or a willingness to work toward registration with a relevant professional body e.g.
DAPAANZ (with organisational support) A willingness to embrace a bi cultural treatment approach within a therapeutic community environment Interest in and demonstrated knowledge of Tikanga Maori and of Pacific cultural norms Ability to establish effective relationships with others, including clients/tangata whai ora Self-motivated and a positive attitude Skills in individual and group therapy Strong communication skills and clear, concise writing skills Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Suite applications An understanding of working in a correctional environment A full, clean NZ drivers license We can offer you: A salary between $65,915 and $73,590 depending on registration and experience An annual ''location'' allowance of $2000 for working in a correction''s-based environment.
